Sometimes I like to doodle when I drink my tea…
As you can see some of the forms are repetitive but this exercise is less about coming up with new forms and more about loosening up. Of course, new forms and ideas do come out as I work across the page. I try to do a page every morning to get into the creative mindset. These are drawn in a small moleskine sketchbook so it’s not hard to fill up a page quickly. It’s rewarding to see a whole spread of sketches, even if they are very quick and full of “mistakes”. This is something I’m beginning to like though. The key is not to think about it but to just have fun with it. Using pen or something permanent helps because it forces you to just live with whatever you put on the page.
